hidden gems in the philippines

From the amazing coral reefs and marine life of Coron Island to the natural wonders like the Chocolate Hills in Bohol, there are so many hidden gems in the Philippines. This beautiful archipelago, the second biggest in the world, is made up of an incredible 1761 islands.

During our 12-night Philippine adventure, we are accompanied by our local hosts, who show us the authentic side of this beautiful country and help us immerse ourselves in the local culture.

Manila’s Marvels

Our journey begins at the luxurious Hotel Peninsula in Manila, where we stay for a few days and enjoy all the amenities it offers.

Embarking on a heritage tour of Manila through Intramuros, the oldest district of the city, gives us an opportunity to get familiar with the tragic history of the Philippines. The rich Filipino culture has been shaped by many different cultures, with the Spanish impact being the most significant.

As we stroll through its cobblestone streets, we are admiring beautiful Spanish architecture from the colonial era.

After exploring Intramuros, we head to Barbara’s Heritage Restaurant,  where we indulge in delicious Spanish food and immerse ourselves in the world of flamenco dance and live music.

In addition to the Spanish influences on Filipino culture, it’s essential to acknowledge the profound Chinese influence, too. And the best way to do so is to embark on a delicious food tour through the oldest Chinatown in the world. Here, we try a wide variety of dishes – from noodles to dumplings. Savoring authentic flavors helps us immerse in the vibrant culture.

This immersive experience goes beyond just delicious food. As we stroll through the lively streets, we see tailors working hard, people relaxing in front of their homes reading newspapers, and the everyday rhythm of life in this historic area unfolding in front of our eyes.

Coron’s Marine Beauty

When it comes to hidden gems in the Philippines, one destination that should not be missed is Coron. This remote island has so much to offer- majestic limestone cliffs, stunning lagoons, vibrant coral reefs, and fascinating shipwreck sites.

Snorkeling in Coron is unlike any other experience, it’s like diving into a whole new world. As we dive into the crystal-clear waters, we are instantly transported to an underwater paradise. We enjoy the explosion of colors of the corals and encounter sea turtles and colorful fish.

After an exciting day of exploring the magical underwater world, we head to a secluded beach where we have a delicious lunch prepared by our amazing boat staff. Fresh fish, shrimp, and vegetables accompanied by plenty of wine and fresh coconuts- it can’t get any better!

Cebu Adventures and Mactan’s Beauty

Cebu and Mactan are two beautiful islands right next to each other.

We stay in Mactan, in a luxurious resort that boasts an infinity pool with breathtaking sea views. Peaceful surroundings and top-notch amenities are all we need on our free day.

However, for the adventurous souls among us, there is an exhilarating option available – canyoneering. It includes a variety of activities such as hiking, swimming, cliff jumping, and more.

Those who decide not to join in on the adventure or stay in the hotel could take a guided tour and explore the historical wonders of Cebu City instead.

Bohol’s Natural Wonders

Bohol is like stepping into a lush tropical paradise. It’s famous for its Chocolate Hills, which are over 1200 cone-shaped hills that turn brown during the dry season and look just like Hershey’s Kisses scattered across the land.

In addition to these incredible hills, there’s a whole lot more to discover in Bohol.

The Tarsier Sanctuary allows us to see tarsiers, the smallest primates in the world. These tiny nocturnal animals can only be seen on a few islands in Southeast Asia.

We get fascinated by these little creatures and their big eyes, which are even bigger than their brains.

Our adventure doesn’t stop there. We embark on a lunch cruise along the picturesque Loboc River, where we enjoy incredible views of palm trees and a delicious buffet lunch featuring local delicacies.

And to make it even more exciting, we participate in an incredible dance performance that showcases the lively customs of the island. It is a fun way to fully experience the vibrant Filipino culture.

Boracay Bliss

If you’re looking for a tropical paradise, Boracay is the place to be! Here, you’ll find stunning white sand beaches with palm trees, crystal clear waters, and magical sunsets. It’s the perfect place to relax and try activities such as island hopping, scuba diving, or simply sunbathing.

Although Boracay is one of the most popular islands in the Philippines, there are many secluded beaches and coves that can only be reached by boat.

As we glide through the crystal-clear waters, leaving behind the noise, we feel an instant sense of tranquility, and it’s like stepping into our own private paradise. Sipping on Prosecco, indulging in food on board, and exploring the vibrant underwater world are just some of the experiences awaiting us.

After discovering hidden coves and indulging in snorkeling, our journey takes us to a secluded beach. Here, we enjoy a delicious buffet lunch filled with fresh seafood, fish, meats, fruits, and vegetables. It’s a feast that complements the natural beauty surrounding us.

But the wonders of Boracay don’t end there. We have an opportunity to embark on a magical sunset sailing tour.

As we sail across the sea, the sun is starting to go down, painting the sky with beautiful colors. Imagine feeling a soft breeze while watching gentle waves and an amazing sunset. It’s like pure magic happening right in front of your eyes.

At other times, we enjoy sipping cocktails by the pool of our luxurious beach resort while we continue to fully enjoy all the magic that Boracay has to offer.

If you’re looking for a cultural adventure and hidden gems in the Philippines, look no further than our tour.

We will take you off the beaten path to show you the country’s best-kept secrets, from pristine beaches to breathtaking waterfalls. So why settle for the usual tourist destinations when you can uncover these hidden treasures?
